Badging

A NASA One Badge (Personal Identity Verification-PIV 2 Badge with a Smart Chip) will allow access to Kennedy Space Center (KSC) without completing additional paperwork. If you do not have a NASA One Badge, please contact Samantha Dunscombe (321.867.0404) by May 8th to arrange for a temporary machine pass upon entry to KSC. You will also need to bring two forms of identification to receive a temporary machine pass from KSC:

  1. A valid Federal or State government issued picture ID which could include a driver's license (the non-PIV 2 Badge from your NASA facility is not acceptable)
  2. A U.S. passport, a U.S. voter's registration card, a U.S. Social Security Card, a U.S. Military card or birth certificate.

Directions from Cocoa Beach, Florida to KSC Learning Institute, M6-570
Proceed north on State (SR) A1A until you get to Port Canaveral. Go through the lights passing the entrance to Port Canaveral and take the exit on the right to SR 401 for Cruise Terminals and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS).

Continue on SR 401 (you will go over a bridge and pass a Cruise Terminal) until you see the sign welcoming you to the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS).

NOTE: If you do not have a NASA One Badge, you must obtain a temporary machine pass from the Pass and ID Building on the right before entering the gate manned by a guard.

Show your NASA Badge or machine pass to the guard at the gate to CCAFS. Then follow the road (Cape Road) past the CCAFS Fire Station. DO NOT EXCEED THE SPEED LIMIT, and if using your cell phone while on Center, please pull your vehicle over to make your call. Pass by the two large water towers (on your left) and continue until you reach Industrial Road.

Turn left just before the power substation and proceed out of CCAFS. The road becomes NASA Causeway. Proceed across the Banana River Bridge.

Continue down the NASA Causeway past 2 sets of traffic lights. After the 2nd set of lights, turn left at the median cross over onto "D" Avenue.

Turn right at the 2nd street, then left at the 2nd entrance to the parking lot. This aisle takes you right back to the KSC Learning Institute.
