THE HISTORY OF EARTH DAY:

Earth Day is celebrated every April 22 around the world. Founded in 1970 by former governor and senator of Wisconsin,

Gaylord Nelson, the objective of the first Earth Day was to get a nationwide demonstration of concern for the environment so large

that it would shake up the political arena. It has done that and more by creating what is now known as the environmental movement.

Earth Day has become, perhaps, the most prominent catalyst for ongoing environmental education, action and change.
